Boys' birthday continued.....

Unfortunately for the 2 furry boys, 8th of August also means it's time to go to the vet.
Yes, i am that practical, knowing how forgetful both daddy meow and I could be, 8th of August is chosen as their birthday AND also time to get your annual jab jab day.

Yes, i am terrible. Absolutely diabolical.

So, on a Saturday morning on the 9th, we took Poppy to the vet first. That's cos i only have one PTU (the Furrari) and so could only being them one at a time. Yes, i seriously need to get another one. Sigh.

Poppy the blur cock-eyed optimist almost always get conned to go into the PTU. Pops : Helloooo....what is theeze?? I wanna go in.

Pops : Looks comfy...

And in he goes. No need to push, no need to bribe. Easy peasy. Pop's never a day wiser.

I guess everyone who has cats can attest to this : cats meow a lot in the car. But then they get to the vet, it's like zip! no sound. not even a peep. or squeak.

Pops had to be Frontlined again cos of this recurring fur mite. Poor Pops. Fur mites love him. Either that or we suspect he keeps breeding them...like he actually LIKES them...why?
Cos the fur mites eat his fur. It makes fur drop off. Like a lot.
And Poppy gets less fur = Poppy not so hot.
Lots of fur = Poppy very hot.
So, Poppy likes fur mites. Fur mites is his best buds.

I got quite a scolding when Poppy finally emerged from the spraying room, all wet from the Frontline solution. It reeks of alcohol as well. Mummy was scolded all the way back home.

Came back home and out the soggy one tumbled out, reeking of Frontline. MeowMeow was sitting on the coffee table, looking at Poppy with one kind of face. It's that "Oh no"...

I turned my attention to Pops for one second and looked up again to see MeowMeow gone from the coffee table. In just a split of a second. It's like those Japanese horror flicks where u see the ghost and suddenly it's gone. Poof!

Where did the orange one go?
Hiding underneath daddy meow's recliner, trying to look nonchalant. But with a very worried face. As u can see, Meowz is the smarter cat. Poppy's just happy go lucky bumbling la li la li la cat who is not too smart at all.

That's Meowz slinking away from daddy meow who tried to take a photo of him crouching underneath the recliner...
And that's Meowz after slinking away from recliner to the corner behind our tread mill. Looking VERY the sour puss indeed. See that tail all curled in towards body as much as possible, crouching very low to the ground...Meowz was trying to make himself as small as possible so that people don't spot him!

Grabbing him is no problem. But putting him into the PTU is a biggest problem. The orange one just puts his anchors down and acts like lead. Pushing him in is like pulling a donkey who refuses to budge. So, we had to open the PTU from top and then lift him into it from top. But always, before we manage to close the top, Meowz would have used his spring legs to bounce out with such a combustion of energy one would be surprised for a cat with a broken leg.

So, daddy meow would have to hold him down and i would have to quickly cover the top and snap all latches close.

I almost died of exasperation once when i was alone and had to bring Meowz to the vet. I think it took me longer to get Meowz into the PTU than it took me to get him to the vet.

So naughty.

Meowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeow!!!!
That was all the way to the vet.
Meowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeow!!!!
That was all the way back from the vet.

But as usual, vet said Meowz is a very good, gentle cat.
And Pops is very wild and fierce looking.
Pops scolds everyone. Especially the one who jabs him.

I guess the small tyke can be quite a fighter. And the orange one although big, is a gentle giant.

Once all vet stuff is done, it's time to bribe our way into forgiveness.
Canned fish.

Pops : Faster!!!

I guess it's always nicer to eat from other people's bowl. Look at Pops! Luckily no hiss from MeowMeow!

Both boys have forgiven me.
Especially Poppy. Easy peasy. A bit of fish, a bit of scratch, and Poppy loves mummy again.

Till next August....
Phew.

Hi. We just found your blog, and we gotta say we are a little concerned at how easily Poppy gets into the PTU. If Poppy is too hot, maybe you could take him to a groomer for a 'lion cut'. Not as floofy, but cooler by far.

Have you introduced yourselves to the Cat Blogosphere? You'll get lots of visitors that way.

Hi Feline mommy,

How are you doing? Your obsession for your cats can fight mine for my kid :P

So it's confirmed that it is just going be cats and no babies ever?

Hahaha... lion cut! I'd love to see Poppy in a lion cut. At least that way there'll be less hair all over the house

We heard about a lion cut from Just Sharlene. She has four of the floofiest kitties around, and one or more of them get a lion cut every summer. Keeps them cooler, and cuts down on mats, too.

Yea, i first heard of it from Sharlene as well when i visited her blog. Love her beautiful cats! So, it must be a term coined by her. It's the most amusing thing!! No, Poppy's all fur and no meat. He would look terribly weird!
