Stolen story from my brother's Facebook

My sister's favourite cat, Meow Meow, striking a regal pose in her home.

This cat came into her life 5 1/2 years ago as a kitten. She adopted it and they became an item. The cat is so super affectionate that it will go up to her room every morning and meow outside her door till she lets it in, making it a very effective morning alarm clock.

Being a tomcat, meow meow is super restless too. It loved the outdoors and was one day hit by a motor vehicle or bicycle, fracturing its left hind leg. The cat hid itself from my sis for a week before crawling out of its hiding place underneath a drain slab, totally wasted from starvation and hours from death.

My sis and her husband rushed it to a vet who managed to reset the fractured leg and placed it on glucose drip. RM1,800++ later, it bounced back to health. Who says maintaining a pet is cheap?

But for my sis, the money is irrelevant, as the cat is her talisman as it came to her out of the blue, at a time when her life was in a state of emotional turmoil. I agreed with her and this is more than I could say for some humans, who are unmasked as gold diggers or at best fair weathered friends.

(The leg hind leg cannot be tucked in due to the fracture. My sister jokingly referred to it as meow meow's "turkey leg")

--------------------------------------

I stole this story from my brother. Ha. Me the stealer. But i wanted to put this up as i cried when i read it. It was so touching, i want to keep it forever. i never once told my brother or mom how broken i was when MeowMeow went missing for 1 week, the 7 nights i cried and daddy meow just watched sadly, cos no matter what he said, no matter how much he hugged me, i was inconsolable. MeowMeow was my heart. How did my brother knew? I only told him much much later, after MeowMeow was found and recuperating at home. And that was just a brief story, without much emotion and all. I think perhaps my dad told him. Or that he knew. Even my mom knew how much MeowMeow meant to me.

Every time i read this story, i cry a little. Tears just come. Cos it's true, MeowMeow came into my life at that moment when my dad and mom split. Having the orange fuzzy around was the bright spot in my life. No one likes seeing their parents split. The hurt and anger from either side. The not knowing what to do, which side to take. It's like god had placed him in front of the pet shop, for me. And i knew i couldn't leave him behind.

I don't know what i would do when it's time to say goodbye. Don't take him from me so fast, please.

PoppyMeowMuscat

The boys are fine.
I know i have been rather dull lately with sad posts.
Cos i feel sad.
And when i feel sad, nothing feels funny.
But the boys are fine.
Even Muscat is fine.
They got new names.
Poppy is 'He Who Keeps Shit In Fur and Later Drops It'.
MeowMeow is 'He Who Itches On Shoulder Blades'.
Muscat is 'He Who Meows Very Loudly from Afar'.
Deaf also can hear.

I have 3 cats now.
2 live inside.
1 lives outside.
The one i don't bathe, don't clean his ears, don't do anything except stroke, pat, rub his belly.
I like. It's like having another cat without the responsibility.
All i needed to do is to ensure his bowl of food is topped up daily and fresh water is next to it.
And i love it when he hears our door opening and runs from very far, meowing terribly loudly.
Muscat squeezes thru the grill but soon, we would have to bend the grill bars further apart.
Cos his belly is expanding with all the food.
Good life.
I guess even better than the boys.
Cos Muscat gets to eat, manja and then go out and be wild.
Chase female cats.
My boys just stay at home and watch birds taunt them from the window.
But they are safe, warm and always loved.
They have a nice kitty tower.

I am a soccer mum.
All cats who come to me are male cats.
Daddy meow says i seemed more impartial towards male cats, despite always lamenting i want female cats.
"U are biased la! Can see. U don't even like Doppy and it's a she!"
"But Doppy's evil!!! Pure evil! She scratches me! Dontch like!"

Male cats are more loving and manja.
Period.

shedding season

excessive fur shedding makes me unhappy. the fleas are back. what adds to my sadness is that it could probably be muscat, who comes to the apartment with his fleas, which then jumped onto poppy. poor brown one. already he's losing fur rapidly. bathed them today and then have to spray them with frontline tomorrow, which i hate as it's horrible. imagine how the cats feel.

but i love muscat. i love to feed him and i love to walk down the corridor to see him there, meowing at me from afar. running towards me and plonking down, exposing his soft belly for me to stroke. such trust from a stray animal is the most rewarding. it makes me happy, gives me some respite from the sadness inside my heart. i wish i could find a nice home for muscat but no one seemed to want him. and he doesn't like other fuzzies, hence making him a one cat home. ironicallly, my muscat story is like a presence who keeps coming back into my life. everyday when i open our door, i would feel a sense of loss if he's not there. not knowing if he's gone away to another territory or someone has decided to take him in as a pet. but the days when i open the door and do find him there, lying on our foot rug, belly exposed, looking at me adoringly, i feel a happy high. and it's a different happy that i feel with meowz and pops. it's like i am cheating behind their back by entertaining this new rogue. he's not as cute as my boys but he has this adorable quality that i can't seem to put my finger on. it tugs at your heart and it makes u want to embrace him and protect him. it makes me happy. and that high keeps me going for another few days until i see him again. knowing that he is alright, safe and unhurt brings me a sense of relief.

muscat always returns. after 2 - 3 days, he will usually come back, meowing for me. his presence is not wanted by daddy meow and the boys. will just keep him outside, let's see how.

The cats' new tower

Daddy meow kinda broke the old cat tower last week. The cat tower I bought which the boys love. Usually Pops would be on top and Meowz would be at the mezannine. Well, any idiot can see from this picture.
And the tower provides them with the best escape from me when i am vaccuming.
Never ever try to stupidly carry the tower holding the top perch (where Poppy is sleeping on in this picture) when both Pops and Meowz ARE ON IT.
That's how the top perch broke, scaring the boys silly cos they were on the tower when it broke.
Why did it break? Cos it could not sustain the weight of the 6kg orange cat.
Hence, the guilty person bought the fuzzies a new tower.
And what a grand tower it is. Pops checking it out.
Meowz checking it out and cam whoring on it.
Poppy cam whoring.
Notice the little house on top?
Never try to stuff the orange fat cat in there. Might get stuck.
Poppy can, cos he's all fluff but the fella refuses to be shoved in.
Took them a while to warm up to it.
Cos it doesn't smell like them.
But someone's started branding the edges of the tower already, rubbing his scent on it.
Checking it out cautiously. Actually, Pops was more interested in the box that this tower came with. Jump in, jump out, jump in, jump out.
Well, they better start loving it cos it's HUGE! Takes up more floor space than usual. U know me, i hate too many furniture on the floor. I like interiors with a minimalistic look. I fact, i feel like chucking the couch now. Just sit on the floor. My next place, should be minimalistic decor - very little furniture, a lot of floor space. A cold interior devoid of warmth, in line with the icy queen that I am.

I wonder where this yellow cat tower would fit in then.
Notice the cute paw marks on the yellow furry part.
It does take some getting used to.

Cat pictures

I got the whole library of Meowz and Pops' photos from daddy meow!
I think i've got over 3000 photos of them.
Plus lotsa videos.
(evil laugh)
I am such a cat person.
But i love dogs too.
I love all animals.
Just happened to have cats for now.
I was a cat before.
I am going to be those crazy old lady with 100 cats.

My brother asked me just now, how come male cats keep coming to me?
Muscat is a male cat.
Yeah, somehow the cats i find or come across are always male.
I am going to be a soccer mom.
Me and my boys.

I found this photo.
Can u spot Poppy's face? It's truly spastic.
This was when the couch is still lovely, unscratched.

Muscat cannot stay away

Muscat came again today.
Meowing for me on top of his voice.
Deaf also can hear.
Daddy meow said oh no. Not another one. Die loh...

This time, Muscat terminator-ed thru my grill (cats are all fur) and into the shoe area before our wooden door to the apartment. He's getting bolder!
Preposterous Poppy Poo at the wooden door looking at the intruder eating his biscuit. Malicious Meow came up and a hissing spat ensues. Meow hissed, Muscat meowed back VERY loudly and puffed up his tail.
Sigh.
Meow don't like the new guy.
They were both so close they could have pounced at each other if they wanted to. Finally, my orange one backed off, tail in the air, walked to daddy meow's recliner while hissing.
So funny.

I have now left a little bowl of cat biscuits and jar of water for Muscat at our shoe area. He could squeeze in to eat anytime.
I wonder if anyone wants to adopt Muscat.
"Give ur mom la. So he can play with Doppy. One boy, one girl".
"Don't want!!!"

I feel like i am two timing my boys with Muscat.

Little treat on the floor

Harlo? What is this? Someone left something on the floor the other day. Could it be :
A peanut
A chocolate
A coffee bean
An assam boi
A chestnut

What u think?
None of all those of course. I would be so lucky if it were.

It's a piece of TURD/SHIT/POO.

I would rather it was a peanut or a coffee bean.

Euw.....

Who left it?

Of course. Who else?
Poppy likes to leave little 'treats' on the floor for us (daddy meow actually) to pick up.
For some reason we can't fathom, Poppy's poo seem to like to stick to his fur and then drop off on the floor when he walks around. This is what happens when u have a furry cat with long furry behind. Poo gets stuck to the bom bom!!!! Disgusting!!!
"U la! U never trim his furry pants!! He keeps dropping shit all over!!"

Errr....when does Poppy ever sit still to let me trim anything??? I have to give him sleeping pills before i could do anything to the little bugger.

But i like Poppy's furry behind. It resembles the pants MC Hammer used to wear in his music videos...

It's really cute!
It's not cute though when shit sticks on it.

And u can't see cos the fur's so dense....so we get nasty surprises.

Nasty surprise case #1
I was bathing Poppy a few years ago. And when his whole fur was thoroughly wet, suddenly, a piece of brown turd came out. On my bathroom floor. It was round, with a pointy tip. Pointy tip u know!!! I was like "What the hell! What the hell! is that??" and daddy meow was just laughing away. The brown turd flow with the water stream and came so close to my feet!!! NASTY!!!

Nasty surprise case #2
I got a phone call from the brain while at work.
Him : I want to...i want to complain!!!(gasping indignantly)
Me : (thinking this better be good) What now?
Him : Your brown one left...left...left a piece of SHIT on the kitchen table!!!
Me : EUW! How???
Him : I don't know!! But it's on the kitchen table!!! He probably jumped up and the motion caused his poo to fall off from his fur....disgusting!!! That's the first thing i saw when i came home!! A brown piece on the white surface!!!
Me : EUW! Clean it up la!
Him : I did! And it was still fresh! Wet! I had to disinfect the whole kitchen table! Don't know what he rubbed against on the table! I detol-fied the entire thing!
Me : How u know it's Poppy??
Him : I know la! And it's this weird shape somemore. Like a pebble with strands of hair coming out from the end!
Me : (choking with laughter) Poppy left u a little treat!

I was laughing so hard i don't remember anything else.
I think he said something about throwing Poppy away.
And of course, when i got home later that day, the brain just had to draw for me how the shit looked like. So i am gonna redraw it to illustrate how it looked like :

Cute hor?? Especially that fur bit sticking on top. Not cute when u see it on the kitchen table.
What sick twisted girl would spend time drawing poo?
And people think i am such a workaholic.
I have nothing better to do.

Poppy likes to drop little brown treats on the floor.
Poppy Poo.
Think twice before getting a long haired cat.

CNY fishy lunch

Since it's CNY, the boys get canned fish today.
They love canned fish. Go all mad when they hear the 'crak' of the metal lid being pulled open.
U would then see two furry animals running towards me and meowing on top of their voices.
Poppy would sometimes stand on his back legs to get closer to the sink, especially when i take my own sweet time pouring out their food.Poppy eating. Look at where his front two paws are. Poppy eats like a racoon. He's really a funny funny cat. MeowMeow would be the first to finish his food. Street cat vs pet shop cat. Of course, street cat would gobble up his food faster cos it's basic survival instincts. Pops just eats very slowly like he has all the time in the world. No survival instincts. That and also, his mulut longgar.
However, notice the orange lurker who has finished his food and is eyeing on Poppy's food. Everytime. The orange lurker skulks stealthily. Normally the lurker would come up close to eat the morsels that have spilled onto the floor (due to Poppy's mulut longgar).....

Then slowly...
Face goes into the bowl. Not like Poppy cares. No spats, no hiss, no cat fights. This is why MeowMeow can accept Poppy. Cos the small one is quite the bodoh bodoh happy go lucky. Cockeyed optimist.

Sometimes, i would go "NO Meow!!!" and the orange fuzzy would sit down patiently, and look at Poppy eating. Very well trained in that sense. Meowz knows what NO means. I have to do that or else Poppy will never get to eat. All food goes to the fatty bom bom.
And when Poppy decides he has had enough, the orange one would still sit there, staring at the bowl longingly until i nudge him to eat the leftover food.
Well trained leh?

Meowz is 6kg and growing fatter by the day. Poppy's still all fluff.

Cat pics of the day

Look at the sissy orange furball.
Sleeping on daddy meow's belly.
This is MY cat, my best bud and here he is, snuggling up to daddy meow in such a manja way. So envious. MeowMeow doesn't really do that with me anymore. I guess.....after one session of sleeping on daddy meow's fat and soft belly, he's hooked. Of course, who wouldn't want to sleep on a water bed?
Poppy loves to sit with me on my bench. The smart ass would say "It's official - Pop's YOUR cat. The orange one is mine. Yours is the naughty one. Birds of a feather flock together..."
Bah, smart ass.

Here is MeowMeow, during his walks outside the apartment. Errr...no, it's not. It's an orange cat that looks like MeowMeow from far. Just as fat. It was eating rice on the road and we sneaked up to him from behind and took this picture. When he realised it, he leapt in fright and ran away. Not friendly at all.

And this is my cutie pie who has this weird fascination with my shoes. Whenever i come home and take off my shoes, he would flop down and rub his cheeks on it. Leaving his scent, as though saying "It's mine!" And then lovingly nibble on my shoe. That's why i always have to keep my shoes back in the cabinet fast. Or not, habis.

CNY eve and Muscat

Muscat came to see me on CNY eve!! Having had dinner at the in-laws' place, we returned and guess who was sitting nearby our door. Muscat!!!
I was squawking retardedly until daddy meow said not to get overly excited lest the cat gets frightened and run away.
Muscat came to say Happy CNY to mummy meow!
He meowed at me when he saw me.
How did he know where i live? Which door was mine?
Cats can smell.
No wonder my apartment is full of stray cats, loitering around.
"No la, this is not Muscat. Doesn't look like it"
"Yes, it IS Muscat. I know!"
"Meow!"
Yes, it was Muscat.
He recognised me and meowed.

We gave him some cat biscuits to eat. So cute!
While eating, we opened the wooden door of our apartment and let the boyz come out to sniff at this new friend.
Of course, protected from behind the grill.
Pops came out first to sniff. With his usual bodoh bodoh face.
Muscat saw and POOF!! Hair along his spine stood up, his racoon-like tail puffed up twice it's size!

And he gave an unfriendly arrrrwwwww!!! (stay away!!)
Pops ran back inside! Chicken shit!
I guess Muscat is a loner. Not friendly to other cats.

Here's Poppy looking a tad troubled. Sitting far inside the apartment, looking out at this new furry thing outside, eating HIS biscuits. Manja-ing HIS mummy.
Too bad i don't have a picture of Meowz. The orange fuzzy also came out cautiously, sniffing this new intruder before expelling a sissy meow and then a warning hiss.
To which, Muscat gave a loud MOW!
And the orange one ran inside, tail between legs.
My boys, cannot protect me if my life had depended on them.
Sigh. Sissy boys.
I told my brother.
"That's cos the new kitty still has balls. Your boys are ball-less. That's why so chicken shit".
Hmmmm.....yea, see a little kitten and they run away, don't dare to come out.
Although, i must admit, Muscat does have a loud meowing voice and looked terribly hostile when he saw my two fuzzies.
Muscat don't like.
Muscat is a loner.
I will keep Muscat outside.
This afternoon, while i was working, i heard a loud mewing sound outside the corridor.
It was Muscat again! Meowing at someone's door.
When he saw me, he ran towards me but refused to come in.
So i put the biscuits outside and again, the boyz lingered at the doorway, watching this grey creature who look suspiciously like them eat.
Meow would come up behind me and hiss at Muscat and then run away.
Pops jumped onto my bench and looked out, worriedly.
Ah, my pussies.
It's a wonder how male cats can actually become so 'feminine' after cut cut.
So funny.

My new friend

Wherever queen pussy cat goes, her disciples follow.
As i have said, when i moved in, there were no cats in the neighbourhood.
It was just dogs. Dogs everywhere. Dogs who would stupidly chase your car, trying to nip at your tyre as you drove past, trying not to squish them.
Now, it's cats cat cats.

I made a new friend yesterday.
A little grey teenage kitty.
Isn't he adorable. Ok, this time, it IS a he. I checked. U can't have balls that big if u are not a male. (giggles)
He was running around at the end of the corridor and when he saw us coming towards him, he ran and hid behind a wall. Then stuck his small head out and looked at us. And then he did a soft meow.
He ran away from the male giant but as i was crouching down, i seemed less ominous to him. I meowed softly to him and the fuzzy came to me and sniffed my fingers! And let me pat his furry head!! I was over the moon.

And then he followed us down the stairs, meowing all the way. At one point, after taking this photo, he stopped following us down. But at the bottom of the stairs, i called out to him and he meowed back loudly and stuck his head out of the railing to look at me! And then ran down to my feet. And plopped down! Look at his spotted belly and striped legs. Like MeowMeow's.
I was crouching down. He saw my lacy skirt.
Started playing with it.
And biting it, very agressively.
Bye bye lacy skirt.
I let him, cos he was so cute. My heart was already all fuzzed up.

(Big bambi eyes) "Can i keep him please?"
"Yes u can"
Big bambi eyes wide in shock. "REALLY?"
"Yes, keep him here la...at the car park"
Bambi eyes narrow into unamused slits.
Smart ass.

I had some cat biscuits which i bought on Friday night but too tired to carry up in the car. Whilst walking towards the car, the grey kitty ran towards me in a very cute, spastic way. Sorta like half running, half jumping. Like a mountain goat or something.

Took some biscuits (I buy Royal Canin , damn ex) and poured some on the floor, near my car. The grey one ate! Just ate a few and then left. Eat pau pau and then go. Cats are like that. Free spirit.

When we came back at night, all the biscuits were gone. Dunno if it was the grey kitty who ate all or the other cats .
"He probably invited his friends to eat as well la. Or it's the security who swept it away" the brain said.

We poured some more, in case.
The security would probably think "Eh, apa ini? Bijik bijik macam tahi. Aku dah sapu habis, ada lagi?? Celaka punya...."

I shall name my new kitty.....Muscat.
I don't think MeowMeow would be happy to know his mummy's been fooling around with another kitty. Naughty. Already he has to tolerate with Poppy's annoying presence.

Docile Doppy

Kitty a.k.a Doppy the girl cat.
Seems that after cut cut, she's tamer.
She will still bite hands but it's less aggressive than before.
I haven't visited her since the last time she bit and scratched me and caused marks.
She is a cutie pie, isn't she?
Ok, my boys are cuter but she does have a nice colour combination for her fur coat. And a long tail.
Look at that. Grovelling all over daddy meow's feet. I love white fur on cats. They look clean. Always white, always bright. Daddy meow once said, the secret in keeping their white fur so white lies in their saliva. When they lick their fur coat, the saliva acts like bleach to whiten the fur. Hence, it never gets dirty or turn dirty white.
Hmmm....Meow's white chest is always white.
Cat saliva....bottle it up and sell it to housewives. They would love it.
Cat saliva, better than bleach.

Yeah right, babe.

Cherish the moments

Poppy’s starting to get very possessive of me.
Ever since he slept on the bench next to me while I worked, he’s been jumping up and lounging on the bench whenever I am on it.
Taking over what was once Meowzer’s spot on the bench.
Poor Meowzers.
When the orange one comes nearby, Poppy would paw at his face.
And a cat fight ensues.
U work and suddenly hear this disgruntled meow!....auw! hiss….U know what is happening.
So, this is how it is.
I have boy cats fighting over me.
Ha ha ha ha.

Poppy follows me everywhere.
Yesterday night when I was washing clothes, the cookie monster just sat nearby and looked up at me with those huge eyes.
I think Meowzers puts up a lot with Poppy.
The old fuzzy has to share everything, including his mummy.
Such patience is always rewarded with a G-Spot scratch and sotong strips.
I had to scoop up the orange one who was sleeping nicely on the sofa and put him next to me on the bench.
I sometimes wonder if Meowzers feels a bit sad. Cos everything’s taken away from him since his accident.
His freedom to roam, his original house with garden (my dad’s house), my undivided attention, etc.
Some days he looks really sour, like me.
I wonder what is in that kitty mind.
Some days I would come up to him and he would meow at me. Again and again.
Very verbal.
It’s like we are having a conversation only none of us could understand each other.
Most days he prefers to sit with daddy meow on the recliner, either on daddy meow’s belly or next to him, all squashed up.
The old fuzzy seems to be sitting less with me nowadays.
That’s cos I always sit on the bench, working.
I miss the lap cat.
Perhaps I am a little jealous deep down that he always sits with daddy meow.
This is my cat, the one I scooped up years ago, just when he was a little ball of fluff.
The cat I have played hide and seek a lot with when we were at my dad’s house.
The cat I have driven back home during lunch hour to bring food for him as I didn’t have cat biscuits yet.
The cat I cried for, for 1 whole week when he went missing.
The cat I visited almost every day in the vet’s clinic when he was recuperating from his leg operation, sitting in front of his cage talking and stroking his head for hours.
The cat I spoon fed everyday when he was still traumatized from his accident to eat solid food for 3 whole months.
The cat my dad would never hurt because he knows if he even so lifts a finger onto Meowzers, he would lose his daughter forever (he told my aunt that)

It’s more than I could love anyone in my lifetime.
But I did bad things 2 times.
I had kicked Meowzers once when I was really angry at him biting my hand constantly.
I had smacked him hard a few times when he was in the violent mood and kept attacking my legs, drawing blood.
I am forever trying to make up for those incidents.

My baby is 6++ years old now. 4 more years or so left.
I don’t know how to be able to cope when the day comes. I seriously don’t know.
Boy, am getting a bit misty writing this.
Why am I writing so much about my cats?
This is afterall, my cat journal.

Videos of when he used to chase me around. We have more of these but I don’t want to post everything up. Cos i sound so spastic in these videos. From the hissing to the shrill shrieks of laughter when the orange one charges at me....plus my wrong grammar in my subtitles.

I am retarded afterall, so who cares? Enjoy the video at my expense.

Cats in perspective view

Always, the dark clouds part and sun shines through.
The boys always make me smile.
Such posers.
MeowMeow and Pops are not best buds, but they sure know how to chase each other for fun.
I wouldn't trade them for anything else in this world.
